Biography
Dr. Menno Kok is a biochemist and microbiologist by training. He pioneered “white biotech” in Chicago, Groningen (PhD) and Geneva before switching to infectious disease and vaccine development. He worked at the interface of academia and industry, closely connected to (and involved in) young technology companies as well as health care settings. In 2000, he returned to his home-country, the Netherlands, to become Head of Research Policy of the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, Director of Medical Delta and, more recently, one of the driving forces behind the Innolife consortium (EIT Health). At present he is Managing Director of the Belgium-Netherlands Co-Location Centre of EIT Health, driving healthcare innovation and creating societal impact across Europe.
