Description
Colonel Guy HOFFMANN was born in Luxembourg on November 05th 1969.
In 1994, he obtained a degree in Social and Military sciences from the Royal Military Academy in Brussels (BEL).
From 1995 to 2002, he successively held the positions of Recce Platoon Commander, Platoon Commander of Basic Training and Company Commander of the School Company at the Military Center in Diekirch (LU). During this period, he attended the “Ecole d’Application d’Infantrie” in Montpellier (FR) (1997) and the Staff School in Compiègne (FR) (2002). From 2002 to 2005, he joined the Army Staff as Head of the Inspection, Verification and Observation Group in charge of the implementation of the different Arms Control and Confidence and Security Building Measures (CSBM) Treaties.
From 2005 to 2009, he held a Staff post at the Military Center as Chief of Human Resources. In 2009, he took over the post of Chief of the Education and assistant to the Operation Officer (G3).
From 2010 to 2011, he attended the Superior Staff Course at the Royal Military Academy in Brussels (BE) and obtained a Master after Master degree in Political and Military Sciences.
In 2011, Col HOFFMANN is detached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and occupied the post of Deputy Military Adviser to the Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the United Nations in New York.
From February 2015 to October 2020, Col HOFFMANN, returning to the Luxembourg Army Staff, served as Head of the Luxembourg Air Component.
In October 2020, Col HOFFMANN joined the Directorate of Defence and took over the post as acting National Armament Director while still serving as Head of the Luxembourg Air Component.
In April 2022, Col HOFFMANN is nominated as Luxembourg National Armament Director.
Col HOFFMANN participated in two peacekeeping missions in 1999 to Bosnia and Herzegovina and in 2007 to Lebanon.
Col HOFFMANN is married and has two children.
